Porsche’s Electric Vehicle zooms ahead of their flagship car

Porsche’s electric car offering has outsold their classic 911 sports car according to the car manufacturer, who released the orders that were delivered globally between January and September this year.

The Taycan is Porsche’s first zero emissions electric car, and was first released in 2019, and has proven popular with customers, with over 28,000 of the electric vehicles being sold in the first nine months of this year. The sales of the Taycan are a threefold increase from the previous year, and have helped Porsche recover from a dip in sales between 2019 and 2020.

Porsche are clearly headed in the right direction and keeping up with the worldwide appetite for more sustainable vehicles, with plans to release an EV version of their best selling SUV, the Macan, in 2023.

Overall sales of electric vehicles are increasing, with the market currently accounting for 2% of all new car sales; however this is expecting to rise to 24% by 2030.
