Bon Jovi waives fee for concert in Spain in 2013

On 30 May 2013 Bon Jovi waived their concert fee for a gig in Madrid, Spain.

During 2013 Spain was going through a financial crisis, and the band nearly didn’t play, as they were worried about fans not being able to afford the ticket price.

However, the band decided that their Spanish fans deserved to hear them rock out, and waived their fee.

The tickets were priced much cheaper than they usually were and their concert sold out very quickly.

At the time, Jon Bon Jovi, lead singer, said the following:

“When we started planning our tour for our album, ‘What About Now’, we did a study and found that, due to the economic situation, Spain wouldn’t be on the roadmap,” he said. “However, we didn’t want to ditch the fans of a country I love and has treated me so well for 30 years.”
