A woman heroically saved a kitten trapped in a drain, by crawling 300 feet to its rescue..
The kitten had been heard all week by Lindsey Bembli of Delray Beach, Florida, who had done everything possible to help it out. Bembli left food out for the kitten, but several attempts to grab the frightened feline ended in it running away. Firefighters were even called out and could not pull the kitten out.

Bembli and a group of her friends persisted all week, not giving up hope. Liz Jones, a friend of Lindsey’s, and member of the group Operation Liberation decided to take the plunge, and crawl into the sewer to help the little cat out.
“I didn’t want him to die down there,” Bembli said. “This isn’t what rescue is, it’s not out of the ordinary. It’s the kind of thing that we do on a regular basis.”
Although we can’t imagine it was a nice experience, the cat was successfully rescued and the little guy named Donatello, after the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle who lives in a sewer.
